Finally picked this up at the discount price of $49.79 from Ubi.

So far, it's quite intriguing but I'm only a couple of hours into it.

    More to come...

I'm hearing good things so I'll look into it when I get the chance, $50 is still a bit more than I like to pay.

So far, I'm past what is shown in this video and have none of those issues. Also, I still wish I could upload full 4K images here. Compressed images just don't do the game justice when it's being played at 4K.

It looks like the usual beta release. I will wait till the beta testers who bought it test it more and if they fix it I will get it some time next year for 19.99 or something.
I like the setting and the looks.

Same here over 70 hours of gameplay (this game has a LOT of side missions) and not had any of those issues

Having done Beta Testing for commercially-released games in the past, I can very much agree with this statement. It certainly looks like something a beta tester may have encountered and kept for something just like this video displays.

Ubisoft once made quality games. I remember their heydays when they used to make games like Prince of Persia The Sands of Time and all. Every time I saw the Ubisoft logo before a game I knew this was going to be good. Fast forward a couple decades later and they're all just a bunch of clowns.

I'm not sure when I'll get back to playing this. I was going to last night. BUT, Ubi's servers must have been connected to ancient Hayes Modems! There was an app update and I eventually just quit it and played some more Destiny 2.

Now, there's a 2.71 GB update to the game and the download is crawling at a snail's pace....old snail on crutches, that is!

So, I'll be skipping a session again tonight.

There goes Ubisoft again, now they're throttling gamers down to nothing.

My colleague uses the expression "wounded snail pace". :D Too bad, I hope it goes back to normal soon.

BTW, probably everyone and their dog are downloading Black Flag.

20171213_093339.jpg Not sure if this is still an issue for you but I just loaded the game up and have an update for 3.159GB coming down at 750MB a sec and it reckons about 5 minutes to download

The graphics and scenic views are simply outstanding in this game! These shots are resized from 4K to HD:

After a busy weekend, I finally get a chance to crank up the game and....PATCH!!! And, even though we have Fiber Optic Internet, stupid Ubi's server is limping along at 5.6 MB/s.

And, to top it off, the free, Ghost Recon: Wildlands is installing at 1.2 MB/s. Estimated time with 5.03GB/13.56GB is at about 2.5 hours! And, we have Fiber Optic!

Frankly, if Ubi wants to stay in the digital arena, they have GOT to do better in the server department!

Yup, it's the same with League of Legends, the servers are soooo bogged down. But then again League is a lot more popular, so popular in fact that they had to build their own network in North America for the game.

I've put AT&T on notice that we are considering other options when our promotion runs out. It's scheduled to end in June. But, I spent SIX MONTHS having to get them to correct our billing. They kept charging us the "full price" instead of the promotional pricing. They did, however, make the correction each month. BUT, I got quite aggravated at having to get on them every single solitary month for six months to simply correct what we agreed on.

But, having Fiber Optic now for nearly two years, I can say from experience, it's not all it's cranked up to be. It's especially irritating when the source servers are so far behind the technology.

And, to top it off, my son and d-i-l are completely disappointed in the TV package and quality. Programs that should be in HD are actually 720! So, we're really giving serious consideration to going with another ISP/TV package in the next few months.

But, since I spent the six months getting them to correct the billing, I've also strongly suggested they extend our promotion by six months. I doubt they'll do it. And, even if they do, we may still go with someone else in or near June.

Servers here in the UK for both the Origins and Wildland patches are great though I managed the origin patch in about 5 minutes and the Wildlands one took less than 10 ,is it something your ISP is doing to throttle you?.
