At long last, humankind will no longer need to be a certified astronaut to take a trip into space. But you might need a six-figure vacation fund.

Blue Origin, a company founded by Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos in 2000, has been gearing up for passenger-friendly space travel for years now. Though the company announced earlier this year it was planning to sell tickets for test flights by 2019, there's been no official announcement about what those tickets could cost.

Reuters spoke to two people close to the project, who said the cost of a seat on Blue Origin's New Shephard spacecraft will set potential customers back a minimum of $200,000, and possibly as high as $300,000 or more. Both sources spoke on the condition of anonymity since this information has yet to be made public.
