Anyone have any idea? after loads of emails back a forth with Creative I am unable to even buy a DDL DTS connect activation because they stopped selling it in April 2016.

Robert the man himself, can you read this?

Ps been using your drivers for like 7 years i love the way it sounds

Well. Months ago i had that paranoia and searched the web for it. Ive found several foruns (including creative own forum) and some russian with keys that were locked or removed 3 years ago. What happened??? Well AFAIK daniel_k discovered a way to crack ddl and dts connect keys and posted on creative foruns. Everyone used it for about 1 year or less until DOLBY scums nottest that and asked creative to remove evrything or they would pay a fine . So that method were removed from the web completly. Ive searched to exaustuion and no luck Even got some torrent file from TPB but no seeds or leechers. It frightned me up how they were able to do that.

So if you discover a way todo that be kind to share it with me. I will do the same. I have creative xtreme music my self and even knowing i dont need that crap of dolby and dts encoding i want it because i deserve to have it because I BOUGHT IT CREATIVE AND DOLBY SCUMS. I BOUGHT IT SO I DESERVE TO HAVE IT.

Pax drivers are good enough. I can use the in built Dolby and dts decoding(not sure if is that waht you want.in my case i never used DDL and dts connect for nothing, always sent any audio through spdif out to the inbuilt decoders that x-fi cards have). Thats a huge improvement over direct sound from windows and if the audio is non compatible i can always use ffdshow to encode it to AC3 in real time.

Or u can buy the new creative card Z but knowing that in 5 years time the support for dolby and dts will END AGAIN im not sure if u should buy it..... TBH i would never do that but i understand creative staff are not to blame. The real assholes are from DOLBY and DTS....

I agree the X-Fi Xtrememusic is one of the best sound cards ever made and in combination with Roberts drivers its what i can only discribe as heaven when trying to comprehend the music quality. I just bought a 5.1 second hand 500w system that has a digital coax and a digital optical in, the only way i can get 5.1 out of the extreme music is off the S/PDIF flexijack. But without dolby digital live or dts connect activated you can't get the option for 5.1. So the capability is there and one of really high quality, but the limitation is frustrating. I was wondering if we could contact someone like pax or daniel or even dolby to see if there is a way

Your 5.1 system has dolby and dts internal decoders??? I dont know what you are doing wrong but i have a logitech z5500 (old but enough) and i can get 5.1 sound with spdif out (internal decoders of xtrememusic) that send the untouched audio (decoded by xtrememusic own internal decoders- no windows mixing and no crap between) to the logitech speakers. It can decode DTS and Dolby. But with AAC 2.0 or any other audio that is only stereo you will not get 5.1 im afraid.

As to contact daniel_k. Good luck on that. Its easier for him to contact you if hes in good mud or something. By private message or something. He can`t come here and give u the link. I remember that method needed a driver pack from auzentech official site but we all know what happened to auzentech dont we?

Hey xabre, my extreme music is connected to my home cinema receiver via 3.5mm to coax, i can only have the option for 2 channels in system settings, with ddl and dts activated you will have an option for 5.1 live or dts on there. I am only able to get 2 channel PCM. The card is capable of true digital 5.1 but no one out there can activate it thats my point. my system has an internal decoder but with the source only being two channels out of the sound card then it will not be true 5.1 only up mixed stereo.

What cable are you using to connect to your logitech z5500?

Thats weird. Tell me how are you playing that file on windows? I think you might be using some decoder that does the downmixing to stereo pcm or maybe in windows sound config or creative sound panel. You must set everything to 5.1 and tell the player you use (MPC or KODI or PDVD or arcsoft) to output spdif.

In creative sound settings you have two settings. First in the THX Speaker Configuration you must set it as 5.1. After that make sure that in the decoder tab of creative sound settings you enable the dolby and dts digital bitsream out instead of the "use built-in decoders" setting. And after that go to windows sound settings and set it to 5.1 also because im afraid they arent in sync with your creative sound settings (blame microsoft). In windows sound settings youmust set it to 5.1 also and after that the media player you use must be setting to output spdif and make sure to disable "sending Pcm to SPDIF" If avaiable in the audio decoder settings you use. Also make sure that there are no downmixing enabled anywhere on your media player or audio decoder.

I use normal analog cables mate. But my Z5500 isnt a receiver. The Creative Built-in decoders are doing the decoding on its own hardware and sending the audio to z5500. (Not PCM) It might not be pure but its a big improvement if i use direct sound for example. I can get 5.1 also from direct sound but a crap sound...
