Current prices in Canadian dollars, should be cheaper on Cyber Monday (he already has a gaming mouse).

    - Corsair Carbide SPEC-04 Black/Red Mid-Tower Gaming Case: $49.99
    - GIGABYTE GA-AX370-Gaming (rev. 1.0) AM4 AMD X370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard: $134.99
    - EVGA 750 GQ 210-GQ-0750-V1 80+ GOLD 750W Semi Modular EVGA ECO Mode Power Supply: $119.99
    - AMD RYZEN 5 1400 4-Core 3.2 GHz (3.4 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1400BBAEBOX Desktop Processor: $199.99
    - HyperX Fury 16GB (1 x 16GB) DDR4 2400MHz DRAM (Desktop Memory) CL15 1.2V Black DIMM (288-pin) HX424C15FB/16 (Intel XMP, AMD Ryzen): $189.99
    - Crucial MX300 M.2 2280 275GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT275MX300SSD4: $114.99
    - G.SKILL RIPJAWS KM570 MX Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Blue: $89.99
    - Windows 10 Home - 64-bit - OEM: $129.99
    - XFX Radeon RX Vega 56 RX-VEGMLBFX6 8GB 2048-Bit HBM2 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card - Black Design: $654.99
    - ASUS VP28UQG 28" 4K/UHD 3840x2160 1ms DP HDMI Adaptive Sync/FreeSync Eye Care Monitor: $499.99

Total (incl TAX and shipping): $2366.07

Prices of some of these components may be cheaper come Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales but this is what I'm working with. Thoughts? Suggestions?

    All parts sourced from www.newegg.ca.

Why the 1400?... honestly...? Right now the ideal model is the straight 1600 arguably.

Why is that? I chose the 1400 because it's price is sexy, but if the Cyber Monday sales can drive the price of the 1600 down much then I will swap it out.

Plus he doesn't intend to do any overclocking.

    I never suggested overclocking.

The purpose is that it's by far in terms of longevity and capabilities.. the best bang for the buck. the 6 cores and 12 threads will be and already is having an effect today. Otherwise considering how things are going, the 1400 is like todays i3's...

Crap, just got off the phone with my brother. He asked what I was getting him for Xmas, when I told him it was this he said just give me cash!!! :D

So I guess I'll just hook him up with cash then hehehehe, I told him he can keep the laptop I bought him though (since his was getting a bit long in the tooth).

So I've decided I'll be giving my current PC to my little bro and because all my friends know I'm wishing for a new PC this Christmas I decided to wait until the end of December to buy the rest of the parts, but I couldn't wait and bought these parts anyway just so I have something to hold and to keep my wishes sated until I figure out what I'm getting for Xmas presents (I know that one of my friends has hinted at getting me a Vega 64 card for example). Also, the mouse I really needed as my current SteelSeries Rival 100 started to develop problems with the scroll wheel.

Should I get this board guys? @Tipstaff @Judas

There seem to be a lot of complaints about the voltage being too high when Ryzen 5 chips are used. Also, at the same time, a lot of people seem to be praising this board as the best B350 board out there and it has many awards and great reviews.

    ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING:-

Personally I've had a back and forth relationship with Asus. I've had good boards and bad, sold good boards to clients with not one return... even my buddies system I just worked on has been solid. Asrock though.. nothing but good from them, which is why I personally stick to buying their boards these days.

As for this one, sure. Go for it. Looks good, and the reviews have been just as good. I've also seen it on sale for $155, so a decent deal price wise. One thing I like about that board: Intel network card. Most times you see Realtek, and while they can be good, Intel is better imo.

ASRock seems to have come up a lot especially when building an AMD rig, and for a long time people have been saying give them a try to me. So your recommendation is no surprise. @Tipstaff.

I have decided to get this board instead, save thirty bucks and get a few cooler features like the ability to add an extra 32GB of RAM thanks to two more memory slots over most other B350 boards (I will be getting a single stick of 16GB memory to start) for a total of 64GB. The ASRock AB350M Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 board:-

Also, this board matches the color scheme that I will be going for with my new PC, I'll also be getting a RX 550 graphics card and wait a while for the reference cards for the new Vega cards to come out, hopefully with a price reduction. That should be able to play all the games I play now plus one other I've been meaning to finish, SWTOR. Seeing as I mostly play League of Legends anyway it won't be too much of a change from my normal gaming habits.

I really want a Vega 64 card but there is no way in HELL I am paying close to a thousand dollars for a card again, I have done that several times in the past, and even back then, I felt like I was getting robbed.

Newegg.ca has a good deal on that board: $100.99 before the rebate, but it's ending in 8 hours (I only know this because it was one of the ones I looked at).

Yes, but I don't mind buying it at full price. I'm trying to show some restraint here so I'll buy the next wave end month.

Edit: In the past I've been known to spend a large amount of money at once, but I've learned that just because you have money doesn't mean you have to spend it or rather waste it. So I'm trying to do some budgeting these days and all, now that I'm thirty one I think that my 65 year old self will thank me when I get that old one day if I spend my money wisely. :)

@Trusteft will be pleased to read my edit lol.

I've never had any problem with Asrock boards and it's very likely I'll get one of theirs when I build my next rig, depending if they have one with the features I want. I'll have to see what's a good choise when the time comes.

@Judas must be pissed at me for not getting a Ryzen 5 1600 like he suggested. I actually thought he had suggested the 1500X lol.

not really..... i don't see the point of redundantly stating the obvious in this case as i can't even pass it off as a joke.
