odd I tested the surrounding THX Console I'm showing sound moving in each testing speakers. Maybe it's sign your card is aging? Time move to PCIe creative cards

It works perfectly fine in Windows 8.1 and also Windows 10 if I use Creative's drivers - so I do think the problem is your drivers in this PAX suite rather than an ageing card.

Funnily you mention a new card, I was considering a X-Fi Titanium Fatality PCIe today. But I am unsure of how it compares to my XtremeMusic. The Z-series sounds awful to me and the software is even worse.

I do have another PC that might have a PCI port, but it doesn't have 5.1 sound - but I could perhaps try it and see if I get any sound at all when I change to 5.1.

As I have said before, you are more than welcome to look at my Windows 10 installation via Teamviewer and do whatever is needed to try and get the drivers working. There is nothing of any importance or personal on the installation, literally just a clean Windows 10.

With those steps, also install your tweaks?

This is how I installed the drivers with tweaks:
    1) Install PAX software.
    2) Install Creative drivers.
    3) Extract PAX and with Driver Signing OFF, use Device Manager to manually install the PAX drivers.

Please explain some of this for me the dummie...

    1) Install which PAX software? Using the package linked at the top of this thread?
    2) Install which Creative drivers? Download them from the Creative site? Is there a particular version?
    3) Extract which PAX drivers? Do you mean extract the Setup.exe from the Drivers folder in the package linked at the top of this thread?

    Thanks

    1) Yes, download the 7z archive from post #1 in this thread and then extract this archive and run Setup and install any software that you need.
    2) I install the latest drivers for my product from Creative, which is version SBXF_PCDRV_L11_2_30_0011.
    3) After you extracted the PAX driver archive in step 1, there is a folder called Drivers. But I just point Device Manager to the folder I extracted to and it finds the drivers itself. If the driver does not install, check that Driver Signing is DISABLED before forcing the drivers to install using the "let me pick..." option from Device Manager.
