i did it like that, first i installed the official 2_40_0014 driver, and then i installed this one. but it did not work with any of them...i did install the support pack 3.8 SE before everything else, would this be a problem?

This set is the only one where I can install the driver, without the need for any Official Creative driver being present.
Just have to disable driver signature enforcement and the set recognizes the card from it's default windows hardware state.
All others that include 2.40.0012, 2.40.0014 and 2.40.0015, need to have their respective official sets installed prior.
I think this is causing a problem for me in Win10 Creators Update latest build ".540"

The driver's installer creates two extra duplicates (total 3) of the ".ini" files, into the System32 folder, SysWOW64 folder is unaffected.
So it keeps two copies of the two most important ".ini" files as a result of having to install drivers on top of one another.
Those two files are not being overwritten and I think it's causing instability.
DK's Support Pack 4.0a doesn't have this problem as it doesn't need the official 2.40.0015 drivers to be present.
This PAX 2.40.0011 set does install duplicate ".ini" files as well, however, it's only the tweak files and not the two core ".ini" files like the rest.

One can delete the ".ini" copies, the ones that can't, because you need special permission from system, those you keep obviously. You should have just one of each of Rob's ".ini' files present in the System32 folder, once his set is installed.

It's a little work but well worth it.PAX drivers have always had a richer and more robust sound.

So I'm officially back on this set. :) .....log the date lol!!
