Regarding the LCD monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2494HS

The problem is that the monitor is not working except in the Dynamic Contrast, Magic Bright mode,

and when the mode is changed to other mode ( i.e. Text, Game, Internet, or Custom ) monitor turns Black ( in one second ) with no picture on the monitor while still opened ( as I can still see the monitor's blue power led "on" ).

To be able to change the mode again to "Dynamic Contrast", I turn the monitor "off" and "on" again so that the screen work for a second that I have the chance to change the mode.

"Dynamic Contrast" mode is a little dark and colors not so clear, specially when watching videos or playing games that have black parts, then the screen turns too dark !

    - Is there a solution to this problem ?
    - Is a factory reset possible or something similar ? and should that help solving the problem ?

    - I needed to check if the software of the monitor would help with that problem, but I lost the CD ! do you know where can I download it ?

If there is no solution, can the "Dynamic Contrast" mode be adjusted to work better or let the colors be more clear ( not dark ) ?!

    Thanks in advance.

Is your brightness and/or contrast turned down too low?
In regards to dynamic contrast being too dark, generally you can't adjust it as it's automatic.

I can't control the brightness and contrast, because, as I said in the post, when I set the mode to anything other than "dynamic contrast" the monitor goes black as if it was turned off ( but the monitor speakers and power led is still on) !

Check the manual to see if there is a way to reset the monitor.

I think that your problem were started back in 2014, and in that time the issue is not fixed.

Perhaps the solution is to dip into your pocket and get a replacement monitor :)

I think I will close this thread..
