Hi guys, i'm new to the forum.

I have just downgraded my wifes laptop from vista to xp for obvious reasons and everything is up an running on it except the video drivers..

Following exhaustive searches on google and many attempts with various ATI drivers it would seem there are no compatible drivers for xp for the laptop when installed with xp..

I came across the omega site and this forum and i'm hoping it may have saved me hours of wasted time..

The question I have is that if I install the ATI omega drivers on the laptop even though it's only using the standard windows vga drivers at present and doesn't have official drivers for the card installed, will it work and give me the nice display i'm looking for or does the system need correct working drivers already installed for the omega ones to work??

The laptop is an emachines e627 with an AMD Athlon™ 64 single-core processor and AMD M780G Chipset (not great I know but it's only the wifes ;) which basically means facebook and uni work)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
