I have just linked up my Roland PC-180a Midi keyboard to the sound card on my computer. I can't get any sound out of it. Can any one tell me if I need a driver to support it, and if so where can I get it from? I'm running Windows XP SP2.

    Thanks for your help

No drivers bundled w/ the MIDI keyboard controller.

Your audio device or motherboard (if connected to MIDI/game port found in motherboard) has drivers for it's MIDI I/O and it's normally been installed automatically.
    - into which audio device/port you have connected the keyboard
    - check, if you see that controller in Device Manager
    - do you have some software there w/ MIDI functionality?

    - has an utility you can use for to get MIDI problems solved

ok that midi keyboard looks to be a controller ONLY, it doesn't appear to have any onboard synth/sampler

you will need to hook it up via midi cable (if you use a gameport to midi, connect in to out and out to in)

then in what ever application you choose to generate sound in, select the gameport/uart as the midi input
