    I'm new to the forums and was wondering what would be the best driver and settings for it, in order for me to run a game called Lineage 2 better.

    I've tried the offical driver at ati.com and I got about 8 frames per second when i recorded ingame and about 15-20 frames per second when not. I recently installed the Omega driver for radeon and i still get about 8 frames per second when recording, but I haven't done any special settings to it yet.

    just wondering what would be the best driver (if the Omega driver isn't the best) and also the best settings

    my pc:
    vid card = his radeon x1600pro iceq 512mb pci-e
    ram = 2 gigs
    processor = intel pentium dual core 3.20 ghz

    any help is much appreciated

    If you're recording using FRAPs it might be causing that low FPS (or any other similar recording program).

    You could try assigning the game's thread affinity to core 1 and then the FRAPs'/other program's thread affinity to core 2 and see how that goes for you.

    You should also try lowering the resolution you use in game which will speed up the gameplay for you dramatically.

    The best drivers IMO for the 3D gaming would be the latest ATI Catalysts or the latest version of your preferred modded driver set.

    I've been told that for some cards you can install a driver from a better card and the card will perform as good as the better card or real close to it. IE: I heard that the 9250 can use the 9800 driver i think.

    I heard that the ATI Raedeon X1600 pro 512MB PCI-E is one of these cards. I heard it can use, i think it's the 1900 or 1950's driver(?). Can any of you validate/deny this rumor for us noobs? Thanx

    Looking for a modded driver set? You can get the omegadriver here
    and you can see some advice on this same card from Ray Batty here
