hi robert, after trial and error, i manage to install part of the driver for my xtrememusic.
However, it is still not working as it is giving me this error in device manager under device status. Any idea?
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

edit : i've disabled my onboard sound , and in device manager, my card is showing as "Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM)"

Hi, yet another newbie with audio issues *groan* I came across this site by pure chance as I trawled through endless X-fi Win 7 google searches.

I have a SB X-fi Titanium, had it for a few years and worked flawlessly on XP sp3. I've now updated to WIn 7 64bit (Clean install) and all I get is SPDIF output and Creative control panel says no supported hardware installed when trying to launch it. Device manager does state Creative SB X-fi is installed.

I have installed and tried each of the following (clean Windows installs in between)

    - XFTI_PCDRV_LB_2_17_0008.exe
    - PAX MASTER PCIe Titanium Driver Suite V1.50
    - XFI_SupportPack_2_5
    - Also tried manually updating drivers via device manager

None of these methods work and as stated I have reinstalled Windows 7 inbetween each attempt!!

I have tried to install PID_W7PCAPP_US_2_11_01.exe and although it looks like it installs with no errors and prompts to reboot, the install progress flashes up for about 1 second, which makes me think nothing installs.

    My device id is:

    PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_000B&SUBSYS_00411102&REV_03
    PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_000B&SUBSYS_00411102
    PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_000B&CC_040300
    PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_000B&CC_0403

    Hope someone/Robert can help.

    Many thanks.

Just done another clean install, Windows installs the generic HD audio drivers and the speaker outputs are enabled in sound properties (Front, Rear, Sub, etc) as well as SPDIF. Unfortunately no sound plays out of any of them (haven't got SPDIF atm so cant check).
I then installed the WDM Pax drivers and rebooted. once logged back in Device Manager shows Creative SB X-fi but only SPDIF is available now D'oh!

    Thanks.

By the way I reinstalled Win7 on a normal HDD last night and still no sound and only SPDIF connection available. I think I will just use it with the SPDIF connection as I don't think my issue can be fixed.

You need the encoders to make SPDIF to work you need buy them if you own PCI card.

    It's a X-fi Titanium.

I have just tried it with the SPDIF out and it doesn't work with the creative drivers (PAX or Creative) but does work with Windows drivers??!!!
