Intel Core i7-2600K, Core i5-2500K and P67 / H67 Motherboards Review
Intel SandyBridge Launch – P67 / H67 Motherboards and i5-2500K, i7-2600K CPUs
Back in 2008 Intel launched the first of their Core i7 CPUs on Socket 1366. Aimed at enthusiasts it was followed soon after by processors from the i7, i5 and i3 families on Socket 1156 which brought the new architecture to a more mainstream price point. Since then Intel have been slowly releasing new models on each socket, tweaking their line-up to offer various value and performance options for consumers.
In recent times we have seen a number of impressive desktop and laptop systems based on the Socket 1156 platform but that hasn’t stopped Intel from trying to enhance their product line-up and so on our test bench today we have an evolution of the Core architecture in the form of Intel’s "Sandy Bridge" components. These Include the P67 and H67 chipsets and two CPUs, one from the i5 range and the other from the i7.
