AMD Fusion A8-3870K Overclocking and Dual Graphics Performance Review
Dual GPU – StarCraft 2
StarCraft 2 was tested at 1920×1080 with all in-game settings at their maximum.
In this first gaming test, and those on the next two pages, we look first at the performance of the 3870 GPU against the 3650 and see that there is a decent gap in performance between the two. We are of course really pushing these GPUs and the reason for that is to see if the A8-3870 can combine with a 6670 to get playable performance at 1920×1080 with maximum detail. In the case of StarCraft 2 the answer is yes, it is playable at these settings. The game does drop below 25fps towards the end of our test but the RTS engine doesn’t require high framerates and so is completely playable with the only blip being a single second drop to 16fps.
Here are examples of how the game looks at our tested settings.
