For a company such as Corsair expanding to SSDs from their memory range should be reasonably easy, certainly less of a jump than to speakers, cases and the like. That said it seems nothing is too much for them because experience shows us that with each new product category they launch the results never disappoint. From PSUs to coolers and beyond some of the best products we have seen in recent times have featured the Corsair logo.
Today we are looking at the latest SSD range from Corsair, the Performance Pro. Using a Marvell controller rather than Sandforce (found in their Force Series Drives) the Performance Pro offers a different approach to the majority of drives on the market. We’ll find out how it compares with models based on the latest Indilinx, Samsung and Sandforce products in this review.
Packaging and Bundle
Corsair stick with their normal box styling for the Performance Pro series of drives and we get some key specification information on the front, including the capacity and interface. Inside we find a bracket and screws to allow installation in a 3.5" bay.
