The Crucial Adrenaline Series

Externally the Adrenaline Solid State Cache Drive has a familiar Crucial SSD feel to it with a sturdy metallic casing and product branding and information stickers present on both sides. Interestingly on the side we would consider to be the bottom we get the branding, alongside the installation holes and SATA data and power connectors.

The drive measures 9.5 x 69.85 x 100.5mm, weighs 75g, uses 280mW in use and 100mW idle with a MTBF statistic of 1.2 million hours and Crucial back this up with a 3-Year warranty.

Inside Crucial use a single side on their green PCB and attached to it is a Marvel 88SS9174-BLD2 controller. This is the same revision of Marvell’s controller that is found in the m4 drives. Beside it are eight Micron MLC NAND along with Micron DDR3 cache. The 25nm NAND used by Crucial are branded 29F64G08CFACB-12 and the formatted capacity is 59.6GB in Windows 7.
