With the 4650 XFX have created a card which looks great and will perform at a higher level than most models using the same GPU, thanks to its extra 512mb of memory. We also know from the results in this article that the card performs very well when compared to a GeForce 9500 GT with similar specifications – such as 1 GB of memory.
What the GeForce also offers is HDMI out, a feature which is often present on Radeons, though not this XFX card. For some reason XFX have decided not to include a DVI to HDMI dongle either. The result is that to take advantage of the great media functionality of the card we would have to spend additional money on dongles and/or cables.
However, as we know, XFX provide excellent support and this along with a good warranty is present on the 4650 despite it having a relatively low cost. For example, tech support agents are available to chat online which should give novice users real peace of mind that help is never far away.
An impressive midrange gaming card which is very much let down by the omission of an important component, a HDMI connector. This essentially excludes it from consideration for ‘out of the box’ media PC use unless one is already owned.
