HAWX 2 was recently released for PC and makes significant use of Tessellation as well as being a DirectX 11 title.
Testing was performed at 1920×1080 with 4x anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering. All in game settings were at their maximum level.
We are using the retail version of HAWX 2 for our testing and a section of real world gameplay rather than the benchmark which was released by Ubisoft in advance of the games release. With all detail levels set to their maximum and tessellation on we see quite a significant difference in performance. It appears that there may be some need for an AMD driver update for this game as the performance is nowhere near the level of the NVIDIA cards. We shall see in the next week or so if Catalyst 10.12 makes the 5870 competitive in this game.
