Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti Phantom 2 Graphics Card Review

At the end of last week we reviewed the Gainward GTX 580 Phantom3, a custom GTX 580 design with significantly enhanced cooler and card design. In that article we found it to be a high quality product with plenty of overclocking headroom which lowered the power requirements, temperatures and noise levels when compared to a reference model. There is of course one issue when looking at cards such as the GTX 580 Phantom and that is the cost. At £499 it is well out of the reach of most consumers.

Fear not though, Gainward have all their bases covered and are bringing the Phantom branding to mainstream cards too. This means that we get an enhanced cooler, redesigned card and in theory, better performance than the reference model… all of the benefits of the high end card at a much more affordable price. Today we have the GTX 560 Ti Phantom 2 on our test bench and will be putting it up against a selection of cards in a similar price bracket to see how it compares in real world gaming, media and GPU computing tasks.
