Portal 2 – DirectX 9

Portal 2 is the sequel to the 2008 release which is regarded by many as an all-time classic. The game uses Valve’s Source engine, the same technology as Half Life 2 and Left 4 Dead which means it should perform well on most recent hardware.

Testing was performed at 1920×1080 and high in game settings with 8x anti-aliasing/16x anisotropic filtering.

Really the main thing we need to say about the performance of both Sapphire cards in Portal 2 is that it is excellent, exceeding our expectations. When we set the 6570 to 19×10 with maximum in-game settings we fully expected to have some reduction of detail before achieving playable performance but the card performed flawlessly. Moving to the 6670 gave us a little more leeway in the framerates and essentially either card can play one of the latest releases with no compromises which is great.

Here is how the game looks at our tested settings.
