Inno3D GTX 560 Ti iChiLL vs PowerColor Radeon 6870 PCS++ Review
PowerColor Radeon HD 6870 PCS++ Graphics Card
More performance car artwork from PowerColor for their latest box which notes some of the key features about the card on the front. Inside we find a decent bundle which includes Crossfire connector, DVI to VGA dongle and a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort convertor.
The design of the 6870 PCS++ uses PowerColors own design with enhanced components such as Prodalizer capacitor as well as Voltera/Poscap items used to enhance build quality and reliability. Two Crossfire connectors are present on this 6800 series card which is a change from the norm also and the cooler attached to the front is PowerColors own dual slot, silent fan model with copper heatpipes and aluminium fins found under the shroud.
For this particular model we have two mini-DisplayPort connectors, HDMI 1.4 and two DVIs. Three screen gaming configurations are supported and over at the top corner of the PCB we find two 6-pin power inputs.
Underneath the cooler we have the 40nm Barts GPU which contains 32 ROPs and 1120 stream processors. Connected to this 975MHz core via 256-bit bus is 1GB of Elpida GDDR5 which PowerColor set to 1150MHz.
Finally, the 6870 supports DirectX11, Shader Model 5.0, DirectCompute 5.0, Blu-Ray acceleration and output of 7.1 audio including Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio.
