Sapphire Pure Black 990FX Motherboard Review
Sapphire is a company who are very much best known for their graphics cards. By offering a wide range of products based on Radeon GPUs, over a number of years, they have developed a reputation for being a quality brand and models such as their Vapor-X and Toxic editions are often found in enthusiast systems. As well as their graphics card range Sapphire also offer some interesting alternate products such as their mini-projector and the Edge mini-PC which we reviewed previously.
Over the last year or so Sapphire have also been focusing on improving their motherboard range and the end result has been a steady stream of products which have all impressed but more importantly shown signs of evolution and improved features with each launch.
Yesterday Sapphire launched their latest motherboard, the Pure Black 990FX which is based on the latest high end AMD chipset and Socket AM3+. Today we have one on our test bench and will be pairing it with an FX 8-core CPU and 16GB of memory to find out how it compares to one of the better competitors out there. In addition to that we will also take a look at Sapphires new 6450 FleX Edition which should be ideal for those looking to maximise their productivity.
