A great set of results for the Alienware M15X in PcMark Vantage, however I wouldn’t really class this suite as a good "real world" indication, so let’s move onto our own Photoshop V2 Benchmark.

DH Photoshop Bench V2 Alienware M15x
1. Texturiser Test(1) 1.7
2. CMYK Colour Conversion 1.3
3. RGB Colour Conversion 1.2
4. Dust and Scratches 1.2
5. Watercolour 11.1
6. Texturiser Test (2) 1.6
7. Stained Glass 4.2
8. Lighting Effects 1.9
9. Mosaic Tiles 9.7
10. Extrude 41.8
11. Smart Blur 30.1
12. Underpainting 13.5
Total 119.3

There is nothing to test a laptop quite like an application like Photoshop. As Photoshop is not yet perfectly multithreaded, the gains with quad or octo core systems are minor and the X9000 Extreme Edition puts in a good showing with our benchmark suite. There are times when the DDR667 is clearly lowering the scores in relation to the bandwidth the system is handling, however it is more than useful as a main system for design work, especially if you used the HDMI out for access to a larger screen. You could even run in dual screen mode and have the palettes on the internal monitor.
