ASUS Slider Android Tablet (SL101 Honeycomb 3.2.1) Review

Back in August we reviewed the ASUS Transformer, so called because of its ability to combine with a keyboard dock, transforming from a tablet into what was essentially a small laptop. As we stated at the time the level of build quality, impressive specifications and overall design on the Transformer were fantastic and to this day it remains our favourite Android tablet.

As with many of their product categories ASUS always intended to offer more than just the Transformer, recognising that there is an audience out there for multiple styles of portable device. The result of this is the Slider, the second high end tablet under ASUS EEE brand.

The Slider, like the Transformer, is an attempt by ASUS to offer an attractive tablet which offers something different to the competition. With a built-in, slide out keyboard, the Slider is clearly aimed at those who love their hardware keyboards on mobile phones bringing the technology to the tablet arena. We have one of the early samples on our test bench today to find out if it lives up to the quality of the Transformer.
