exclamation Installing Realtek audio driver causes DEP blocking

Welcome , iam delete normally realtek audio driver (non HD) from ADD/Remove programs on Windows Vista then iam using DC.net to completely clean tracks of realtek audio driver , after system restart i cant install a new realtek driver and old driver (naming VISTA_APO for AC97) because DEP (data execution prevention) block the installator and driver to install ...this all cause DC.net ... please how to repair it ??? very thank

WindowsUpdate realtek driver casuse same problem,i think DC.net remove critical registry entry

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

Disable DEP and try to install the official realtek driver.

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature included in more modern Microsoft Windows operating systems that is intended to prevent an application or service from executing code from a non-executable memory region. So it's not DC's fault to DEP to prevent things it might be the driver installer or some other program...

Hi,

DC.NET can't cause that DEP prevents an installation. It is something in windows or the installer of the driver. Best you can do is disable DEP and the n install the driver. After the installation you can reenable DEP.

Did you enable DEP after you installed the driver? if so what was the error? because it can't be the same.

Are you trying to install the latest version of the Realtek driver? If so, have you tried the previous version (version 6280 HERE) to make sure it's not the Realtek installer that is fubar'd?

The reason I ask this is that the latest version of Realteks AC97 driver was only just put out on the 15th, the day you started having this problem, and if it's the same driver you are trying to install it could be that their installer is broken. This has happened before with their driver, and within a day or so they had an updated version on their site. On the same note, you might want to redownload the driver off their site just in case your download is corrupt.
