DC Not Working

Purchased DC, received email with zip file and serial #, installed
on Computer 1, seemed to install, but won't start. Help window appears,
but running the program produces .... nothing.

Same experience on Computer 2.

Then installed on Computer 3 and all is well. First start of DC asks
for serial #, I entered it, DC came up fine.

All three computers are WinXP, and I believe all three have .NET
version 2 installed. But if that's the problem - how do I check to
make sure .NET Version 2 is installed.

Are there other software requirements? Help to get this working
on Computers 1/2 appreciated.

Re: DC Not Working

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

You can check if the .NET Framework is installed by looking the add remove programs menu in control panel. There should be uninstaller for .NET Framework 2.0 if it is installed.

Re: DC Not Working

When I said I thought .NET Framework 2.0 was installed, that's
exactly what I had done - check in add/remove programs - and it's
there.

WinXP SP3 is also installed - is that a problem?

.NET 2.0 SP1 is not (will not) install(ed). I have the impression
that installing WinXP SP3 actually prevents the installation of
.NET 2.0 SP1. In any case - is that an issue for installing Driver
Cleaner?

Re: DC Not Working

WinXP SP3 should not be an issue. I'm not a coder my self so I don't actually know what the deal is in here. Can you look the log folder inside Driver Cleaner folder. There should be some log files that would help Spike (the makker od DC.NET) to figure out what is the issue.

Re: DC Not Working

Hi,

can you check if you can uninstall the .net framework and then reinstall it? because it is possible that the .net framework is damaged.

Do you get any error when you start dc.net?
