Rouge MX6 says 'Hell no, we won't go!"
Back in the land of 3538j, a redundant MX6 (the one with the Windows GUI) is refusing to bugger off after installing ProFX 3.05. I've searched for .kxls on my drive and there are no other profxxxx files anywhere. The one in my effects menu lives inside kxfxpack.kxl and if I rename that it won't load but neither will any of the other fxpack plugs.
How do I tell this ol' has-been to get lost coz it's confusing the dsp when loading kx settings files. |

Lex changed the GUID of MX6, so that it would appear under the ProFX submenu, and as such, any old configurations should be rebuilt.
i.e. Your old configs are using the old GUID, and thus loading the older MX6 version. The old configs should be rebuilt anyway, since the newer plugins may contain less/more/different parameters than the previous versions. Last edited by Russ; May 15, 2006 at 03:09 AM. Reason: typo |

oh crap... ya see, seems to be a confusion with 2 MX6s registered at the same time. Whe I load my default 3538j kx settings file for example, the new MX6 is loaded in place of the ADC plugin, The old MX6 in place of the new one, and the profx output module (forget its name) loads the k1 version instead of k2.

Yeah, Lex changed around the GUID's a bit, because he combined k1lt and k2lt into one plugin (kxlt).
Again, that will cause problems with old configuration files, and Lex stated that they will need to be rebuilt when he released new version of the plugins. I am not sure why you would have a problem with kxlt, since the GUID's should have been replaced in the registry when you registered the new version. As for the old MX6, you can un-register it if you want to, by deleting it's entries in the registry. i.e. Delete the following 2 entries in the registy in (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\kX\Plugins): 1175058b-a0df-4960-bdfb-0d4d2b3fd750 1175058b-a0df-4960-bdfb-0d4d2b3fd750.name Last edited by Russ; May 15, 2006 at 03:52 AM. |
