Surrounder setup for movies?
Hey guys, I have been messing sround and testing but I was wondering what is the"correct" settings for watching DVD's when the software is decoding and set for 5.1?
I was thinking 5.1 direct path becasue you wouldn't want surrounder adding any more delay..etc.. BUt it's hard to notice any difference if I set it to movie mode or direct path..so how is it designed to be used in this instance? movie mode? Direct Path? or whatever? Thx for any info just curious...

because there's no. when n channels is set to 5.1, surrounder modes affect only those signals that come from wave/fxbus 0/1 ('generic' channel), multichannel stuff (like decoded ac3 or 3d from games - busses 4...9) being passed as is, whatever mode it is (not mentioning bass-redirection of course). see http://www.hardwareheaven.com/3-d-audio/55041-surrounder-explained.html |

So Basically when your running a movie with Win DVD or such it bypasses surrounder and ouputs properly? -should bass redirection be on or off for movies?
YEs I wrote the sticky but there is no information for this situation... Last edited by ROBSCIX; Sep 25, 2006 at 11:17 PM. Reason: further info |

>should bass redirection be on or off for movies
that's noone's decision but yours. normally, movie's soundtrack already has its low-freq. stuff separated (but it also depends on how differently the sub-freq bound was originally treated by your speakers manufaturer and an authour of the particular movie) |
