hi all,
first, thanks for the great work. the drivers are a first class effort and make the most of the ageing sblive card. at the moment though, i'm running two sblives in the one machine, with one on the kx drivers and one on the apslive. the only reason i'm sticking with the apslive for now is that i really like the pitch shifter. am i missing something or is there no pitch shifter in the kx drivers? any plans for one? after looking around on the net a little, i notice their isn't much free code around for pitch shifting algorithms. is this a reason? i'd have a go myself, but i haven't coded since using turbo pascal in high school... cheers, michael |

Err.. yeah, a kX version of the APS pitch shifter effect should be available soon - it's almost done (too many things to do, too little time
)./Hanz |

MONO Pitch?
Hi Hanz, might it be possible, that the pitcher besides shifting the original signal also converts it to MONO?

why dont just use a "mono mix" just after the pitchshifter?

Pitch IS MONO!
MISUNDERSTOOD! I mean the pitcher does already downmix to Mono, which is unwanted! I'd like to have a real Stereo Pitcher.

Yes Kokoon,
I double- and triple-checked my settings. The Pitcher right between routing and epilog. Put the pitch-slider to +7 semitones (or everything else other than zero) Now move the level-slider to 100%. As expected the signal gets shifted, but it also gets mixed down to mono. Nobody else experienced that behaviour? *checking my ears* problem persists... maybe I'll have a look at the code on my own... but maybe Hanz is more into that ? greets. |

hmm in fact it doesnt downmix to mono, but it DOES behave strangely... if you only connect one channel to it, the output is still stereo... yes, thats right, 2 channels - ive no idea where it gets the other channel from.

Hey guys.
Well, I'm afraid I probably won't be of much help here, but for what it's worth: In fact, I did not "write" the Pitch Shift effect - I simply mapped out the GPRs from the APS effect and created a kXl GUI wrapper for it. If the effect behaves strangely, it would be interesting to see how the kX version compares to the original APS version when fed with the same input. If anyone wants to look at the code - go right ahead; I've been rather busy IRL recently and it doesn't look like I'll get un-busy anytime soon... Best regards, /Hanz Petrov |
