Setup for CARPC
HI,
first of all, i am from germany, so please don't mind my typos. What i'm trying to achieve is using a PC in my Car instead of a CD Tuner. I'm using high end components you wouldn't know so I'll describe my system as following: Pioneer DEHP77MP Headunit (to be replaced by a PC) 2 Tweeter on the dashboard 2 6" Woofers in the Doorboards (I don't want/need speakers in the back) a 12" Subwoofer in the trunk a 5 Channel Amplifier (with a build in active Subwoofer lowpass filter) I'm using every channel for one speaker so what I need my soundcard to do, is give me 3 outputs: One for the 2 tweeters with the frequency range of 4kHz - 20kHz, another one connected to the woofers with the frequenzy range of 60Hz - 4kHz and of course the Subwoofer providing the frequency above 150Hz. So all in all: I need the option to have 3 generally alike outputs only differing in the frequency range. Is that possible and if it is, how hard would it be to accomplish? Furthermore i need to know if it would work with a CL Audigy 4 Soundcard because the other supported cards are very hard to get in germany. I'm sorry i couldn't find a thread allready dealing with my problem. if there is, just post the link and i will be happy ![]() Best regards retlaps |

To get this kind of output you have to configure your DSP to do this:
Src(2.1) -> HighPass (4khz) -> Output Front -> Amplifier -> Tweeters Src(2.1) -> LowPass (4khz) -> HighPass(60hz) -> Output Rear -> Amplifier -> Mid-Driver Src(2.1) -> LowPass (150hz) -> Output Center -> Amplifier -> Sub Wooffer The "Q" is how fast the frequancy drop.... |

You might find this thread to be very useful in your search. There are a number of us over on the mp3car.com forum who are in a search to find software that will enable us to completely get rid of any outboard processing for our high end car audio/car pc systems. I think you might fit right in! (You can probably guess who I am on there... )http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=88359[/COLOR] Last edited by Red GTi VR6; Oct 30, 2006 at 04:30 AM. |
