Subwoofer filters and settings

Im using the mixer with audigy Z2 card for pure music listening. I use two amps with four speaker and Sub. My subwoofer is B&W asw 300 (100watts) or Jbl (150watts). It seems like Im always adjusting the settings on the back of he subwoofer. Im trying to get a clear note sound. Should I use the surround with the lfe or should I run it straight from the prolog and use filters from the DSP. What filters and settings should I use for both DSP and the back of the sub?
