KX will make your APS more flexible - but its also more complex.
Read up in the KX Help - as well as the guides found stickied at the top of the KX GENERAL forum.

But the quick answer is - with default KX DSP config..
1 - adjust the level (and the mute status) of the input you wish to record
2 - look at the DSP and notice the PROLOG outs that feed EPILOGS ASIO ins - they *sort* of emulate CL ASIO implementations.
3 - choose the corresponding ASIO (thats connected to the input you wish to record) - in your host SW.

If your looking to record the output of something like Guitar rig or any other SW based 'sound effector' with an input - you'll need to customize the KX DSP as its default is meant for a general purpose use.

Its HIGHLY recommended that you familiarize your self with the KX DSP and you soon realize how much more flexible KX is over the APS drivers.
