Problems setting up SB0060 with SX3 & kx
Hi,
I would be so grateful if anyone could help me as I have been sat at the PC for more hours than I care to mention and I'm still getting nowhere! I have read everything I can lay my eyes on and have come up with no answer so here is my spec and my prob: I have a AMD 64x2 4800+ with 1gig of ram running XP Media Centre. My soundcard is the dreaded SB0060 soundblaster live! I have the Kx drivers installed. The problem is that I have input and output showing in cubase but no sound is coming out of my speakers. To get this far I have gone into the DSP and cleared all (weirdly this worked when using an older version of XP) but then there is no sound from anywhere at all (media player, system sounds etc.) . If I re-instate the DSP then I can hear all system sounds but no input or output in cubase. I have tried hookign the DSP up in a few different ways according to the various tutorials about but i have had no luck. If anyone could explain the solution to this in plain and simple language - I would be so very, very appreciative! I just want to use the line in for my electric guitar and my microphone. Thanks, Dan. |

What version of kX are you using?
If you are using 3538L, then I would do as follows: Download and install the ProFx plugin pack. Starting from the default DSP: Unload prolog. Load ProFx:ADC Connect ProFX:ADC to ASIO 4/5 on epilog. Open ProFx:ADC's gui (tweak window) and set it to use MIC or Line In, depending on which one you want to use at the time. Set Cubase (make sure Cubase is set to use a 48000 sampling rate) to use kX ASIO 0/1 for Output, and kX ASIO 4/5 for input. Test it out to see if you are able to get input into Cubase. If not... Your card (all Live 5.1 models) suffers from an issue with ASIO input mapping (which can make it a little more complicated to setup, but once you figure out the mapping, it is not so bad). Read Lex's "A Newbie Guide - "How to setup Cubase SX with KX", for info on the ASIO mapping issue and how to map the inputs. Last edited by Russ; Jan 13, 2007 at 02:41 AM. |

Something I found setting up after I just re-installed...
With a clear DSP the wave generator can be your best friend in figuring things out. Us it to first test your outs and work your way back....

Hi Dan:
Did you read and follow the guide in this thread: A Newbie Guide - "How to setup Cubase SX with KX" - DriverHeaven.net This guide also covers how to find the correct ASIO kapping for those cards with ASIO mapping problems. I thought this guide use to be a sticky, but I can't find it now. Hope this helps you out. |
