Interface Design Suggestions
Hello,
As a newbie to Kx I think I worked out why I was SO confused! Maybe you have good reasons for doing things the way you did, I don't know......but... 1. You can't SEE the volume levels set in some of the filters/plugins (eg stereo mix). That should show on the front ? 2. You can't SEE if any filter is receiving audio. There should be a flashing meter level on each filter ? 3. Kxdriver does not follow normal interface rules. Although double clicking on a filter may seem very obvious (when you've discovered it!) it is'nt. Why not have an actual button on there ? 4. Again is'nt this standard (IMO) ... Renaming of plugins should be possible by clicking on the title, and then typing in the name (like with a file in a file manager). Well...what do you think ? I suppose it's balance as always. Keep it simple so it does'nt end up looking like the "eye candy" that so many modern music interfaces look like, but make sure it's easy to learn. DJBarney |

That could be nice too (Max's GainX plugin does something like this), but when you have plugins with many controllable parameters, to show all the values on the front, the plugin module thingy would have to be larger, and thus would take up a lot more room in the DSP window.
