Gaming support
I used to use the kX audio drivers and I _think_ i remember hearing a quality difference with my nice 5.1 setup (run front/rear into a dolby decoder). Especially when I turned on the flip front/rear option and used the rear codec for music and such in windows.
Anyhow, i play lots of CounterStrike/Quake3/Warcraft III and I'm not expecting EAX support. I know the kX drivers do front/rear naturally but w/o EAX in games. Okay here's the question finally. Without EAX, can I still get 4 channel surround in my First Person Shooter games? |

ditto. eax is basically just a form of sound effects.

it's installed when you install the "full" package
(check your start menu) dunno if it actually works btw... but I guess it does, else it wouldn't be included :-) |
