Loading Config files....
OK - so I was asked a question about this in a PM, and while I have known about this issue I never bothered worrying about it because I never really got excited about sharing config files.
But here goes... So I want to load this kX file to replicate that DSP. kX Project Preset Exchange System The file looks as tho it was saved from the DSP save applet which should only include DSP config as well as the version and device info. Upon trying to load the kX file - it spits out an error: 'Incorrect Settings File' Presume it is from the version differences, so I edit the kX file and replace version and device info to match my situation. Wrong: now, no error pops up, but the DSP shows empty. Does a way to 'force' loading a DSP config exist? if so how? |

others configs from this site works ok, but this two from coda not, he has audigy 4 i think (SB0610 10k2 [c800]), he created it on 3539 drivers, dsp's from 3539 works ok on 3540..., i wanted to check this dsp because it looks impresive, but there is to many plugins and connections to create this dsp from the picture...

Hehe, I got same PM, but I do not have a 10k2 card, so I cannot really test the config myself. In any case, I took a look at it, and I think that maybe it does not like the flags that were used when saving the file (the ones that seem to work for me are saved with the default check boxes).
I think the problem might be that the different sections include the card model info, so here is what I would try (if I had a 10k2 card to test it with): First make sure that you have all the plugins that the config uses. Second, search for all occurrences of " - SB0610 10k2 (c800)" and delete them. i.e. so "[microcode - SB0610 10k2 (c800)]" will just become "[microcode]" Note that this does not include the "device_0=SB0610 10k2 [c800]" line (where c800 is in square brackets instead of parenthesis (so you can use the search and replace function in a text editor and just tell it to replace all)) etc. After doing the above, you will notice "[General]" is shown twice, delete the second instance of it (just delete "[General]" not the section). Change the "flag=0x100" in the [General] section to "flag=0x700". Save the changes and see it it works. -Russ Last edited by Russ; Mar 31, 2008 at 11:02 PM. |

Thanks Russ, It seems I am missing a few plugins used, but looks like your info worked otherwise.

OK, so it seems that presets (for Preset Exchange) should be saved with the default boxes [COLOR=Gray](DSP/Version Ind./Card Ind.)[/COLOR] checked [COLOR=Gray](flag=0x700)[/COLOR], even though saving DSP only [COLOR=Gray](flag=0x100)[/COLOR] may seem more logical.
