Recording in Audition+streaming on BlogTV

I'm trying to Record in BlogTV, seems i have to record in ASIO 48000Hz, which works fine, but if i try to broadcast in BlogTV i get no sound there. BlogTV uses Adobe Flash Player and i can choose input "kX Wave SB0350 10k2 [ac00] 0/1" and that works fine, but when i start Audition i get no input using ASIO input 2/3. Seems the last one i start will get no input....
This is my DSP:

Any suggestions appreciated

Re: Recording in Audition+streaming on BlogTV

Make sure audition uses kX ASIO, and not Adobe ASIO.

Also, maybe clarify your use of 'input' by defining if its a physical input like 'AC97 Mic input' - or is it, audio playback from Audition being an 'input' to Flash/BlogTV.... I presume you are using audition to feed its audio to kX Wave 0/1 recording - and for that you need to mix in ASIO X/X playback to the REC L/R pins of Epilog.

As it looks - you can record AC97 Inputs in Audition, but you can not play it back and BlogTV get that audio. This is correct? If no - what id Audition used for?

Re: Recording in Audition+streaming on BlogTV

Well i don't need to record in ASIO its just that the other option in Audition is to use Audition 3.0 Sound and that seems to work really sluggish. The reason i like Audition is that i can monitor recording level outside of the window and adjust the levels from my mixers this way, but i tried to use Audacity and it seems to work out the same way only that i can use it to record the same sound as in BlogTV. I guess the problem is kinda solved or atleast i have found another option.
Guess i could use the "Peak" plugin in the DSP but i like to be able to select sensitivity, as i only need to see from -60dB or so.

Im really not familliar with the dsp/routing-thing yet, but i want to be able to put a compressor and reverb on my signal to "emulate" the feeling of playing in a club on the sound that goes to the Flash-player and i havent really found out about that yet. Have tried to clear out the DSP and start from scratch but then the mixer looses a lot of functions

I would like to be able to record without listening to the recording, that way i can use my outputs to play through my mixer before it gets recorded.

Btw i use the line input from a mixer in combination with DJ'ing. I have digital output on my mixer, is it possible/an advantage to record from this or will that be extra heavy to my comp.

Thanks, i know its a lot of questions

Thats probably the best solution anyway - using a DAW *just* for a meter seems like using a tank to drill a hole in the wall (aka 'overkill') - seeing below -60db cant possibly be that bigg of a problem..?? but ok.

About the kX DSP...
Each 'box' represents a 'plugin', each plugin can have inputs (on left side of plugin) and outputs (right side)
A 'processing' plugin like Dynamics processor has both inputs and outputs.
Other 'hardware interface' plugins, like
* FXBus (software generated audio from ASIO playback, kX Wave X/X playback etc.. (see kX Help about kX Router)

* Prolog (Physical inputs like MIC, Line IN AUX2, SPDIF IN etc..)

* Epilog (Physical Outputs Like Analog Front Out, Digital Rear.. etc.. And Wave 0/1 REC L/R & ASIO XX inputs - represents audio to be recorded in Audition (ASIO) or Windows Audio Recorder (Wave 0/1 REC L/R)

ProFx Plugins are popular replacements for the above plugins.
http://members.home.nl/nahutec/ProFx/profx3x.htm

Yes, kX Mixer depends on the above non-ProFx plugins, but when you double click on a plugin to access its 'tweak screen' - much more flexibility is possible by *not* relying on kX Mixer - the kX Mixer was design for multi-purpose, general PC audio function - and does most of them fairly well - but custom DSP can accomplish so much more... but at the cost of a bit of a learning curve.

Reference the kX Help file and the various tutorials found here:

Use the digital if you can, you will likely get lower noise compared to AC97 line in.

Re: Recording in Audition+streaming on BlogTV

Thanks, have been fiddeling a bit and got recording and sound to blogTV including Dynamics processor and Reverb if i want, pretty cool. Will get into it, i only use one recording input (line in) and never record from others so i guess if i can set up the DSP as i want i can get it working really good for me

Thanks for the reference
