Possible to use the DSP fx as VSTs?

Hello,

Is it possible to use the VST host in the KX driver package to load some of these great DSP plugins - such as the 'Dynamic Processor'?..As using them in a DAW application.
I have version "3541" of the driver installed.

Thanks

Re: Possible to use the DSP fx as VSTs?

Yes - in Sonar I can use kXi VST as a softsynth (doesn't show up as a VST effect for me), load/save DSP config & kX Automatons with Sonar project - I presume it works in any VST capable host. I only used with Sonar.

Edit: to clarify. the kXi VSTi - saves the state of the DSP and automations, possibly more (like the mixers master page) when you save the vst hosts project/file (In Sonar its a 'CWP' or 'CWB' file)

you won't be able to load the individual effects as VST, but, if your host supports it, you can use them as "external effects" or "external inserts" or whatever your host calls them

you'll need to do a bit of DSP routing to set it up

Thanks for the replies.

I will try some routing schemes.

Re: Possible to use the DSP fx as VSTs?

Use ASIO output busses to route signals from the host to the DSP, get them there via FX_Bus or ProFX "SRC", process the signals with any fx you want, wire the processed signal to DSP-ASIO-plugin and re-route the corresponding ASIO-channels to the host.
