rolleyes Dolby Pro Logic II decoder??

HI! I was wondering if you can make a Dolby Pro Logic II decoder.
The Pro Logica is nice, but the sound is coded Dolby Pro Logic II in all the DVD rips wich have an mp3 soundtrack, so it would be verry cool if you could do that, as there are only a few with coded with ac3.

I realy think that many would enjoy this decoder.

can it be done? i belive it is not that hard for you people, since you already made pro logica.

If it were possible, I would certainly be interested too as the Gamecube doesn't support Dolby 5.1

Cool!

hmm, how about dolby pro logic ENcoder? bought creative inspire 5500 digital speakers few days ago and audigy1 card. speakers have external dolby digital decoder which outputs audio on all speakers only when dolby digital encoded signal is coming to it's digital input. i've played around with kx dsp editor and managed to produce surround sound with surroundit but it only works in winamp and similar programs. when i get into a game it's another story: rear sounds are played on both front and rear speakers and rear ones are so quiet you can't even hear them. is it possible to produce dolby digital encoder or at least dolby pro logic encoder in dsp window? if not, what encoder card would you recommend for realtime dolby digital encoding? is there any out there less than $1000? nforce got interactive dolby encoding but i just bought p4 with p4pe motherboard and don't want to change everything.

dolby pro-logic ][ uses active matrix (not 'passive', compared to Dolby Surround)
so, it requires some additional sound processing

I cannot currently promise you to implement PL ][ soon (neither decoder, nor encoder)

hmm... "prologica" is decoder, right? what is encoder?
if you're thinking about default setup being encoder... that sounds awful with all the reverb and chorus. if you change any setting in r/c you loose positioning. besides, it doesnt work in games.

'surrounder' acts as 'encoder' when it is set in '2.0 - Surround Mix' setting
(as far as I remember )
and, btw, it might act as 'decoder', too (when in 'movie' mode)

I have the hardware Pro Logic Decoder and I must say the surroundit is not good. It's terrible in fact.

Maddogg6 will become famous soon enoughMaddogg6 will become famous soon enough

Look for Redocne - its an AC3 encode - which works ONLY on 10K2 based cards - but is capable of encoding 6 channels into 1 SPDIF - not sure if its 100% DPL ][ compliant tho. Theres also an added latency when using this encoder

This thread was interesting but it's about a Dolby Pro-Logic encoder (not Pro-Logic II). It links to another thread with some info on the algorithms of Pro-Logic and Pro-Logic II.

It'll be nice if we get a new improved version of surrounder lt...Is it really that bad that it needs to be re done ? or is this just general improvments. Can you give us some ideas as to what your working on in terms of the surrounder lt? Ok for getting the best surround effect for movies and such is it better to use Prologica or surtrounder lt? just curious?

ROBSCIX, are you asking the question to Eugene?

Notice that what Eugene last said in this tread was in 2003. Maybe what he had in mind is already in the latest release (3538j) or it was comletely forgotten and nothing changed much since then.

It might still be a good idea to ask Eugene if he added all the features he wanted to add at the time he posted that message.

Yeah, It's a wonder if any improvments have been made to the Surrounder LT at all. I am not sure if surround "imaging" is heavy on the agenda..only advancement I know of latley is your Time balance although not related to surrounder..kinda helps to trim and tweak surrounders output.. So if anybody know if work has been done to the surrounder latley or if guys are thinking of improving or adding mroe features can you let us know...Just curious... I like my surround sound so I am interested..thx
