How to export DSP configuration
Is there any way that I can export a DSP so that it can be loaded on another machine?
When I save settings and copy the *.kx file onto another machine and try to load that file I get an error message. Its a pain recreating the DSP every single stinkin' time. |

Re: How to export DSP configuration
Make sure you save the DSP config from within the DSP window, and use only the default save options.

Re: How to export DSP configuration
Thanx for the reply Russ. When you say "save the DSP config", do you mean to use the "save settings" button (4th down from the top) in upper right corner of the DSP?
That's what I have been doing. The window that pops up has the file name kxdefault.kx - which I change as appropriate - in the filename window. After clicking "save", another window comes up with a bunch of check boxes: DSP, version ind. and card ind are the only options checked. I've been checking "routings and FX Amounts" in addition to "DSP". I've tried to uncheck "version ind. & card ind." options. However, the message "incorrect settings" always has appeared when I try to load the *.kx file on the other computer. One machine has the identical CT4780 as mine and has the same version of Kx drivers as mine. It still doesn't load the *.kx file. We're both on the same patched version of WinXP Pro SP3. My main objective is avoiding to manually restring the entire DSP and then go into each of the effects on the DSP and confnger the stupid things on each machine. That's a bunch of writing down of settings, e.g., the 10 band EQ, and associated busy-work recreating the DSP each time; that's what "save" is s'poda be all about. ![]() However, I don't think I've tried to save the DSP with JUST the default options checked. I'll let you know how that works out.

Re: How to export DSP configuration
Yes, that is what I mean (it is only because each area of kX has different default options checked when saving). Try it again with just the default options checked.

Re: How to export DSP configuration
Hehe, I am glad it worked for you
![]() It will also work between 10k1/10k2 cards (with some obvious limitations related to DSP resources, and 10k1/10k2 specific plugins, etc). |
