Pro-logic-like center channel from stereo source?
Hey guys, I'm playing this game FEAR 2, which on the PC has terribly implimented 3d sound. I've already done a few things in the DSP to get more utilization of the subwoofer.
The other problem the game has, is that it puts very few sound effects out of the center channel, and it sounds like I have a big hole in the sound when I play. Is there a plugin that can take the common elements from the left and right channels and send them through the center speaker? I don't know how familiar with Dolby Pro-Logic you guys are, but if you play a mono source in through a pro-logic receiver, it will come out of the center channel, as both left and right signals are identical. Likewise, if you play a stereo signal, only the signals that are identical in both channels come through the center channel. If there is a part of the sound that is only coming from the right channel, a high-hat, for example, then it will only play through the right speaker. So yeah, I'm looking for a plug-in that will do that. |
