rolleyes SRC FX busses

Hi all, I've been using KX for quite a while, and have started into making a DSP
setup for recording and monitoring. The only thing holding me back is trying to figure out how many FX busses I _need_ . I've looked at the router, and am trying to figure out if I need 4 busses for all the wave outs, or what is going on...I would like to use the profx plugins and the physical inputs seem very straightforward, but I really am not sure how the FX busses are called/used and by what source when. e.g. If I want to use FX or vsti/vst inside my DAW do I need the 13/14 bus? Will I need at least the 4 FX busses which correspond to the Wave outs? I hope you get what Im trying to figure out here...any help in this is very much appreciated. Thanks.
oatie.

The 16 ASIO channels (that's what you mean, not vst) are mapped by default to fxbuss 0 to 15
Simply use whatever channels you need.

I thought you wanted to use ASIO? The wave outs are for WinMM.
To answer your questions; you are free to use whatever fxbuss you need.

Just like FXBUSS, ProFx SRC plugin follows the same mapping assigned in kXRouter.
(Note that SRC supports max 16 channels)

Re: SRC FX busses

Hi there,
OK!, Im getting the hang of SRC to ASIO. I understand now how the ins/outs work with
the routing inside the DAW now. Cool. Looks like I've got one of those oddly mapped cards, fine. Now I guess if for any reason I need to use WinMM it will just automatically use whatever FX bus SRC its mapped to, so I can hook FX 0/1, 2/3, 4/5, 6/7 into ASIO and also the MM in kxlt right? Im thinking this will allow anything to work if needed. BTW, I have no volume control (sliders) for the wave in kX Router page (3550), is that ok? Thanks again, I appreciate your expert advice

Re: SRC FX busses

You mentioned SRC supports max 16ch. Does that mean I can have a maximum of 8 SRC
e.g. 0/1 - 15/16 = 8.. or could I add a 9th SRC to contain Line2/Mic2 ?

Re: SRC FX busses

Hi,
What I meant before is: in the router window I have "c" and "d" sends, but no "a" or "b" sends. Just wondering if that's normal. Do I need to unmute something to see those sends?
Thx.

Re: SRC FX busses

That is normal.

Note that Wave, DirectSound and MIDI routings require send_a and send_b to be reserved by the kX driver to perform stereo panning
