Peak4

Hi.

Please at Peak4 peak meter, when peak reaches yellow color (-6db up to 0db) does it mean distorsion?

Or is it a warning that peak is going to get red color soon? (distorsion, exceeded 0db)

Re: Peak4

It's a warning...... There shouldn't be any distortion at 0db or anything below.... UNLESS you are overdriving what the signal is going into. (like an internal or external pre-amp stage)

Re: Peak4

BTW: There is 12 dB of headroom in the DSP, so you can temporarily exceed 0 dB without clipping, as long as the signal is brought back down below 0 dB before exiting the DSP.

you mean the 67bit accumulator?
but doesn't it refresh every instruction cycle?

No, not really. The unity gain (i.e. 0dB) in kX DSP is defined as 0.25 (thus you have 12dB of extra headroom).
