there will be no significant change in the plugin / dsp architecture in the near future
even if some changes happen, they won't affect your source / DSP code provided you follow the SDK guides carefully /E |

i just found out that the TDHS probably wasnt used in the aps pitchshifter.
i guess it was just "rotating playback head" delay method. (judging by the sound artifacts produced by it). can someone confirm that? for you who build the filters for kx - do you use fourier series? i just read some material on this matter and i might be able to implement the phase vocoder. the toughest thing is to implement the fft, fast fourier transformation. and advices/pointers?

Yes. all of picthshifters available for 10kx use this method... >for you who build the filters for kx - do you use fourier series? no, noone use it. in fact, fx8010 is absolutely useless for fft. (this dsp is highly dedicated for time domain signal processing - not for frequency domain stuff like fft/ifft etc... and that looks reasonable - since 99% of mainstream digital audio effects live in time domain, it could not make too much sense to significally increase the price of soundcard just because of "ghost" fft ability) So i'm afraid that if you plan do something with fft - dsp of 10kx is not your choice.

Even Creative does time scaling via CPU. By the way, has anyone analyzed new pitchshifter in eax4.0 drivers? It is amazingly clear with almost no noticeable distortion (well I even think with no distortion at all for -2/+2 semitones range and maybe even more)?

Well, i have just looked into it... Hmm, code is absolutlely identical to pitchshifters they used for the last two years...
