??? Gradually declining reverb

I have been using the kx drivers since version 3525, mainly to remedy the dropouts and other intolerables that the Audigy suffers with the Creative drivers. I do MIDI transcriptions of large orchestral pieces and have been in the habit of sequencing them with the reverb turned up full, leaving it to the listener to attenuate it to his pleasure. It seems that with each new release of the kx driver, the maximum level of reverb achievable with the "reverb lite" sliders has been getting progressively less, such that since driver 3533 (and possibly earlier) even the maximum setting is less than what I would like when I am listening to the files. When listening to many MIDI files such as are available on the Classical MIDI Archives, there is hardly any reverb at all. As far as I am concerned, MIDI without reverb is a sterile experience. Am I missing a setting that I can change to alter this, or is this reflecting an esthetic of the driver author such that too much reverb is a bad thing?

visa versa
[my own] default configuration for MIDI has much higher reverb setting
and, btw, I don't use the driver's default configuration

the ways to tweak the reverb: 1. kx mixer's 'fx' page 2. kx router's 'synth1/2' 's 'Send C' slider 3. the 'Reverb Lite' effect itself [there's an 'amount' slider]

you can try CLReverb instead of Reverb Lite (or try kXU reverb found here)

Thumbs Up!

>>the ways to tweak the reverb: 1. kx mixer's 'fx' page 2. kx router's 'synth1/2' 's 'Send C' slider 3. the 'Reverb Lite' effect itself [there's an 'amount' slider]

1. In my current installation (version 3534) the kx mixer's 'fx' page has reverb (and chorus) sliders only for wave output. I recall that earlier versions had sliders for MIDI as well.

2. When I go to the router page and expand either Synth 1 or Synth 2 I am presented with Channels 1 through 16. If I click on any of these I am given a window with sliders that are labelled '13', '14', and four sliders labelled '63'. There are entries labelled '2' and '3' but these have no associated sliders. There is also a selection called "All Channels". This window contains the '2', '3', '13', '14', and '63' headings but there are no sliders. I don't see anything called 'Send C'.

3. My 'Reverb Lite' window contains sliders for 'Level', 'ER/LR' and 'Diffusion', all of which are set to max levels and are not enough. These settings on early driver sets would have reverbed me out of the room. There are also 'PreDelay' and 'Decay' sliders but these don't seem to influence the overall amount of reverb. There is no 'Amount' slider in my Reverb Lite window.

4. All of which leads me to ask: Is there something wrong with my installation? I am using a Audigy (not Audigy 2).

5. If it matters: I have installed all these drivers from scratch, that is, I uninstall the previous driver before installing the new. Would it make a difference to install the earlier driver and then just install the new one on top of it?

I really appreciate your help.

in the kX Router applet:

if you hold the mouse cursor over '2', '3' etc.. for a moment, you'll notice a tooltip
I suggest you tweak 'all channels' instead of tweaking them one-by-one

there are two ways of tweaking reverb for Wave source: via 'summ' effect (in the KX DSP window) -- it also correlates with kX Mixer's 'FX' page, and by tweaking kX Router's 'SendC/SendD' amounts

I suggest you use FX page for Wave and kX Router for Synth
