How to route mic input through main l/r output

Hi All,

I have a micropower radio station for which I have been using the KX drivers as my main audio processing. The station's mix console is a Mackie 1604 VLZ, has 4 sub busses. The audio from the computer feeds two channels on the console. The console output feeds the transmitter through an outboard lowpass and MPX filter, and a final clipper circuit..

Currently, I am running outboard voice processing in the channel insert of the channel the announce microphone is connected to. The signal bypasses the computer and therefore the airchain processing in KX DSP.

I would like to route my pre-processed announce microphone through the processing scheme I have set up in KX DSP. I have connected the appropriate "real world" wiring to do this, as follows.

The channel the announce mic and associated processing is connected to, is routed on the board to the sub-buss, whose output is connected to the "line in" on the Sound Blaster Live MP3 plus card.

The problem is I cannot find a way to route the "line in" signal back to the epilog through the various APS compressors and "e-verb".

Any help on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,

Steve Michaels,
Cheif Engineer

what is the exact problem?
perhaps a more detailed description of your routing would help (both hardware & software)

Eugene,

Here is the routing EXACTLY as it is set up. Left channel path ONLY, for simplicity of description. Both left and right channels are IDENTICAL.

XROUTING [8000] stereo_l feeds FREQ SPLITTER.

FREQ SPLITTER HIGH feeds APS COMPRESSOR(1)

FREQ SPLITTER LOW feeds APS COMPRESSOR(2)

APS COMPRESSOR (1) and (2) feed SUMM.

SUMM Feeds APS COMPRESSOR (3) which functions as AGC.

APS COMPRESSOR (3) feeds APS EVERB.

APS EVERB feeds EPILOG input Analog Front Left [Swapped] [4000] out0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it.

Duplicate the chain for the right channel and you have the complete setup.

Thanks for your help and for the wonderful KX drivers!

so, what exactly is the problem?...
(btw, just for curious users, you can provide a link to a screenshot of your DSP configuration -- just for reference )

The goal is to feed the LINE-IN on the card from a microphone preamp, and route it through the DSP routing above, to the LINE-OUT, mixed with the WAVE audio.

I have tried about a million different things with the routing, but still can get no sound from the LINE-IN.

So, how would I co about routing to acheive this?

>> can get no sound from the LINE-IN

check that line-in is enabled on the 'ins and outs' page ('ac97 in') -- there's a mute button and a slider -- tweak BOTH

add a peak meter (in the kX DSP) and check if the signal gets into the DSP
make sure you've selected ac97 source ('line-in') on the ac97 page
