??? APS Expander 3531 not running with 3535

Hi all!

With the new drivers the APS-Expander plugin unfortunately doesn´t work anymore. Internally all seems okay, but there are no tweakings possible. No silders if I doubleclick the plugin. In the automation-window the effect appears, but also without any GPRs.

Please help me - I miss my noise-gates...!

Thanx in advance!

Hi Eugene!

This is it:

APSExpander 141a09a2-3d0b-11d6-a4c7-8fae6d701846
Fri Jul 13 12:59:04 2001
Expander (based on the APS Diet Compressor) EMU10K1_A0
Copyright 1998 E-mu Systems/Creative Technology, Ltd.

I found it into this forum as an *.kxl-file (don´t remember, where - think, MaxB told about it)

You can download the complete file here:

http://www.electricstart.de/plug/apsexp31.zip

Thankx for your reply!

Well, it should not be that hard provided that the source code (for the GUI stuff) is there.... Eyagos does not seem to hang around here anymore, but it may be possible to recreate a GUI using the APS compressor sources.

I assume that you want side band functionality in there aswell ?

Cheers
Soeren

P.S. Eyagos: Are you still around?

Hi Soeren!

Yes, that would be nice. Sorry for my impatience, but these little gates are so useful and they save a lot of work in processing waves after recording, ´cause they process them before...

Thanks for coming in here!

Sorry for not being here all this time. Don't have too much time now, but I'll update to 3535 in a few days. And I'll send the code to KX team too.

See you in a days.

Hi TravelRec!

I compiled an Expander and a Compressor plugin - for kX 3536a - based on the kX driver's APSCompressor and the APSExpander made by eYagos. I don't tested it deeply, but it seems good and working.

I can't upload it anywhere, but i send it to You via e-mail if You interested.

And thank you the whole kX team, and eYagos for the great driver and effects.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english, i hope You understand what i wan't to say.

Great News!

I have a request for all dsp programmers: can you please compile a "mono" version for the compressor and the expander?

Thanks a lot!

Eyagos:

If I good know it's not possible to compile with .NET for kX. I found this topic and the possible answer:

http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...threadid=17714

MaxB:

I uploaded the plugins to this location. Here is the links to them:

Compressor: http://plugg.fpn.hu/compress.kxl

Expander: http://plugg.fpn.hu/expander.kxl

P.S.: I'm not a professional DSP programmer, I just in the learning phase, so if anybody find an error, please write it to me, and I try to correct it. Thank You.

P.S.2: mAlo: here You find a Mono Compressor please test it. I hope it works good. The link is: http://plugg.fpn.hu/monocomp.kxl

Well, could you please test this new compressor:

Comp-T.da

- It has a new level detector, and it would must work better.
- It is not in a .dll, and the values can't be choosen properly. The defaults values are the same as the APS compressor.
- This compressor (and the APS too) works in stereo and mono: Practically no difference if it would be coded for mono.

Thank You for the reply.

I don't tested it with the default kX DSP setup so far, but today i tried it. For me - with the default setup of kX - the original APS plugins crashes my kX mixer. The APSCompressor and the others like Flanger etc. So i think the bug is not in my recompiles. But i hope somebody can figure out why these crashes happen.

I use different plugins instead Epilog and Prolog. Most of them written by LeMury and with those the Compressor and the Expander is working properly.

Here is my DSP setup and this is fully working without crashes.

http://plugg.fpn.hu/DSP.jpg

But i don't give up and i try to find the answer to these things.

Maybe due to differences between 3536a and 3536b. Here it crashes too, with 3536b.

Hi!

eyagos - Comp-T is not working on my system with 3536a, not like a comp - more like a volume fader with not reproduceable tweakings - sorry...

Plugg - the new compiled expander works with 3536a, but could you please remove the mon_out? It makes no sense, fills up some space and kills some GPRs. Thanks!

Keep up the good work!

Hi!

Thank You for the reply and testing. I'm happy if it's useful to You.

I removed the mon_out and created a simple but (I think so ) useful website for the plugins.
Here You find all versions.

http://plugg.fpn.hu

And thank You everybody who tested the plugins.

P.S. The previously posted links not work anymore please follow the above link, and you find the files.

The monitor/no-monitor versions are an even better idea . This way i can use the ones with the monitor for setting up the thing and then free some GPRs when i'm pleased with the result.
I found a workaround for the 3536b... sorta. I set it up in 3536a and then installed 3536b on top. I can't change the settings anymore but they use the settings i saved. That will be ok for me till the recompile.

Thanks for your work Plugg
