CLEAX3Reverb
When I try to add CLEAX3Reverb to DSP it shows me an error which says that there is an error with translating microcodes, "Too low free GPR registers". What does this mean? I`m using Audigy2 Card.
Thanks. |

It means that you already have some effects loaded and there's no room in dsp for the new effect... So you should unload some of effects first (at first try to unload Reverb Lite)

Hm I`ve unloaded reverb lite and chorus (just deleted them) and it`s still the same. Meaby surrounder or HPhSp reserves so many memory?

HPhSp - yes, it's the most huge monster - kill it. (i did noteven think you have it loaded)

As i remember (fixme) this is "Headphone Spatilizer" - converts mutlichannel sounds to stereo for headphone listening...

Ahh I see.
I`ve set it like this: FX1: 3D Sound Gen FX2: CLEAX3Reverb FX1 amount: 50% (In games --> 75%) FX2 amount: 25% (in instrumental audio without drums --> 50%) It makes very, very cool effect for almost everything (second effect can make echo on bass & drums music) Btw. Is there any way to change this "Reverb" and "Chorus" under FX tab in kX Mixer? |

>> Headphone Spatilizer
yep. exactly this is a (well, nice ) spatializer with a good HRTF algorithmbut it eats a lot of DSP resources and is not recommended for 10k1 boards for 10k2 boards -- be sure you need it /E |

I have a question: What exactly does CLEAX3Reverb do? Obviously it is derived from some Creative effect, but the plugin has no tweak options and the outputs aren't even labeled (I don't even know how to connect its outputs as a result!). Is it just a generic reverb effect of some kind?

It`s hard to explain but it`s not just plain reverb. It`s cool when listening some classic tracks without big drums like Pink Floyd for example. This reverb adds coloration and longers the sound without killing oryginall sound like other reverbs do.

What about connecting the outputs? The outputs are unlabeled so I don't know what to connect where.

I`m connecting it as FX1, start connecting outputs from FX1_nw to FX1_t on xrouting.

That makes sense, except that I don't use xrouting so I'm not sure what I would do with some of the outputs. I'll play around with it sometime if I feel like it though. Thanks for the info.

I described my setup in this thread: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...threadid=31594
I've sinced modified it though to take advantage of 3536rc2's Src and k2lt plugins to save instruction space and make things look even more cluttered

Creative EAX uses Feedback Delay Network reverberation method - it is one of the best reverb alghoritms available.
