EEK! DynamicA -- A Dynamics processor plugin

Hi.

Here you have a Dynamics Processor plugin. It is made with 3 serial Compressors/Expanders, 'tweakables' with some common parametters. It includes too lots of pressets. In fact, this was the cause of making this plugin: To reproduce the pressets included in a cool and popular audio program. But this is not easy, and the plugin uses lots of resources.

I called it DynamicA and is icluded in this file, compiled for 3536c, and with some ilustrating ilustrations:

dynamica.rar

exclamation Impressions...

1) downloaded the file
2) uploaded in 3536a, worked
3) double clicked on it :
4) looked at the presets :
5) connected and eared :

compliments!
You have made a wonderful job!
I am still trying it, maybe some preset must be refined, but I believe that plug-in like DynamicA can make to become the kx-card with the kx-driver semipro instruments!

Compliments again and thanks a lot for your job!

Thanks for your comments mAlo. It is true that the pressets aren't tested, and could be optimized. Some of them repressent "real" situations, but I say more, other situations can be achieved...

DynamicsA with 3535

eYagos

I just registered your dynamics plugin with driver version 3535 and all seems to be working well! I have not used it too much yet so I will report back after I really know what it can do, but so far I'm impressed. The presets list looks great too. Thanks for sharing this with us!

I tried it with 3536a, and it works very well.

Thank You very, very much for this plugin, and of course for Your work too.

Well, I have an improved version (2.0), but I will need some help until publishing it:

I have implemented a "gain metter" or "monitor" inside the tweak window. The "monitor" works, but I load the images from a personalized skin file, and I want to know if these images can be included inside the dll, and if so, how to do it. Until I solve this problem I can't publish it.

In other way, the functions included in the plugin are not too different from the dynamics processors included in common music programs, so it must not be very difficult to set up it. If you take a look to "Cool Edit", or "Sonar", or any other you'll trust me. So...
If anybody knows a situation in wich a dynamics processor (not an isolated compressor or expander) could be usefull in KX drivers (listening or recording music, watching TV, playing electric guitar, etc), comment it here please.

Regards.

A dynamics processor could be usefull: in the mixdown of a song, maybe it can help the vocal-recognition softwares

Hi eyagos!

Sorry for beeing late, but the last week was gone too fast, had some music related things to do. Yesterday I downloaded your new plugin. Tests with 3536c were negative. This could be logical due to changings in the driver. The panel opens properly, all tweakings are accessible but there´s no sound at the output. By switching "bypass" the sound is on. Could you recompile the plug anyhow?

Thanks and regards!

It is jet compiled for 3536c. How have you connected it ?? You can see some examples in the images included in the rar.

Hmm, seems to me that attack and release time sliders are mixed up somehow. Realease affects to attack, and attack - don't know it it's doing anything or is it short release. I'm having hard time to get rid of pumping becouse of this... Nice plugin anyway, you have really put some effort into it. Great to have presets too.

Maybe... The plugin has two "hidden" parameters related with attack and release times used in the level detector. These parameters have less influence in the time response than the attack and release times that you can see in the tweak window (wich affects only to the gain proccesor), and this is the cause I don't include them as controls. In next version you will "hear" them

Great plugin Eyagos

First, I'd like to say thanks for the plugin Eyagos. Works great with my keyboard and guitar, especially the drum machine preset.
As far as it taking alot of resorces, I have yet to see that, maybe it does maybe it doesnt, but I am still able to use other plugins even with yours loaded in, so it's resourse usage isnt that major. Great work Eyagos.

Peace......

Eyagos, have you planned to implement some sort of graph window - like those bundled images, moving along with sliders? Or is that 'gain metter' going to do this?

No wilho. I don't know how to do that (my knowledge of c++ is very limited). The gain meter is a simple vumeter that measures the gain (possitive or negative) aplyed by the dynamics.

Hi eYagos!

New download, new installation -> now it´s running on my system too. But I´ve not much time for intensive testing now. Only want to say: it works and thanks for your work. Comments I´ll send later. And the vu-meter would be great.

Whelp, color me confused but I've never seen a .rar
file type before. I assume it's some kind of archive
but no program I have understands it.

Looks like an interesting plug, I'd like to try it

A .rar file is a compressed file, like .zip. The descompressor is called WinRar, and I guess you'll have to download it too.

Well, here you have version 2.0. But you'll have to some 'trick' in order to make work the monitors (read the readme.txt file for instructions).

Dynamica-2.0.rar

PD: The dll is compiled with 3536 rc11 SDK, but probably sould work with any 3536 version.

A mono version would only use a few registers and instructions less (four or five), and half the tram size.
