Frequency cutoff at 9kHz?

Hi...
How do I get a fequency cut off at 9khz with the DSP effects?
I already tried it with the EQ-Lowpass Filter. But when I set it to 9kHz there are also higher frequencies. There is no real "cutoff"...
Can somebody help me?

Thx...

stack a few lowpass filters, or, even better use the p5 param eq and play with it to achieve what you want.

Don't forget the Freq Splitter plugin, which is designed for just this kind of thing--a cutoff at a specific frequency with an arbitrarily steep cutoff curve.

Set the freq splitter to the frequency you want, then turn the "width" parameter all the way up! The low frequency content will appear on the bottom output pin.

Don't expect a brick wall cutoff that removes everything outside the cutoff frequency. Why do you want to remove all the signal above 9k anyway?

Thanks for the replies...

@Soeren_B: It was only for some tests with audio compression methods.
9 kHz was only an example...
Now I record the sound and make the freq. cuttoff with cooledit.
I thought i could do this "on the fly" with the kx-dsp.
