Guitar HELP PLZ?!!!
ok, i've plugged my guitar into my sblive mic port, and walla, i can hear the clean sound of my guitar..
now i want some distortion so i download some effects and open them up... now.. after going into the effects tab and opening up an effect.. i hear just the same clean sound of my guitar.. any way to get some distortion onto this?.. i want to try to have my computer as an effects processor.. oh yeah and a side note.. i tried to record the "clean" sound of my guitar on the windows recorder.. i can see that its' reading an imput as i record but i notice that when i play it.. nothing comes out either.. help would be nice .. anyone?... |

to use the effects you need to play around with the DSP for a little to get used to it, also http://kb.kxproject.com/guide for the recording (select how to setup the microphone)

Ok, this has been explained here on the forum thousands and thousands of times, but anyway...
Open the DSP window, right click and load the effect. Connect the two ac97 outputs of the prolog(the first two or maybe just one of them because your guitar is a mono source anyway) to the input(s) of the effect. Then the output(s) of the effect to the xrouter or directly to the epilog...

Are you shure that you've connected the !PROLOG! (that's the bottom left panel in the default kX setup) and not the FXBus!

yeap.. i think its something to do with the computer not reading the imput from the guitar...
currently i set the ac97 on the correct input.. switching from mike and line in.. theres no difference except for the volume levels. i use a sblive 5.1 card |

>>switching from mike and line in.. theres no difference except for the volume levels.
Then everything should be right if you hear the guitar. The levels are different, because the mic input is hardware amplified and line-in is not. You're doing something wrong here... Right-click in the dsp window and choose clear DSP. Then load a Src, and a k1lt from the ProFX tab. Then load your desired effect. Double click on the src and the k1lt and choose respectively the mic input and front or rear output depending on where you've connected your speakers. Connect the effect inbetween and if it still does't work take a look at the beginner's guide and make everything there step by step!

There's no need to be sorry for anything!
That's what this forum is about - helping people.
